GULF COAST RESCUE and RECOVERY operations by Rescue International members and sponsors

Photos from RI-RRTF water rescue teams working in New Orleans after Katrina hit, they pulled out about 300 people and coordinated dozens of volunteers that rescued thousands of trapped residents.

RI K9 Recovery Task Force was deployed to the Gulf Coast for over two months providing Recovery Dog Teams to Hancock and Harrison Counties in MS.  Team did one week shifts assisting recovery teams from across the country and local agencies.  The CRTF allowed locale agencies to clear actual and potential reports of remains in area most were cleared by K9 teams as not being human, this speeds the cleanup work.

9/11  WTC RECOVERY TASK FORCE OPERATIONS

Rescue International provided the organizational and overhead operations for a Canine Recovery Task Force of dogs, their volunteer handlers and support personnel.  These specialty trained teams were brought in from across the country to assist the NYPD with locating the thousands of victims missing as a result of the WTC attack.  From this effort a permanent Task Force has been formed with canine teams from across the country.

This Recovery Task Force uses volunteers from law enforcement, fire/rescue and the Search and Rescue community.

The task force is available for response with 2 to 30 canines and support, anytime special trained cadaver/recovery dogs are need.  They are available to work ALL types of disasters like Fires, Building Collapse, Floods, Airplane crashes as well as small operations like Water Recovery, Criminal and Lost Person searches.

RTF Draft After action report WTC recovery.
